Occasionally I cry a little during weddings. I hide behind my lens and silently sob thinking about the amazing gift marriage can be. About the covenant. About finding the person who is (not perfect, but) perfect for you.
The tears came when Pastor recited the lyrics to a Matthew West Song (one I had never heard) and the sentiment rang in my ears all day long. The lyrics made me think about my friends and family who yearn for a companion. For someone who loves them through God’s strength and with His power. Saturday, this dream was fulfilled in two of God’s children. Near the altar of Piedmont Baptist Church, a story of love and of hope won.
The Day Before You
I had all but given up on finding the one that I could fall into on the day before you
And I was ready to settle for less than love and not much more
Oh, but heaven knows those years without you
Were shaping my heart for the day that I found you
And if you’re the reason for all I’ve been through
Then I’m thankful for the day before you
I will never go back to the day before you
During the speeches, I found out that the first day Champ met Lydia, he started to write her letters. This didn’t surprise me at all. Spending even a couples minutes with these two, you can feel their mutual adoration and respect for one another. It makes me gloriously happy to know two wonderful people are forever joined together. You have been such a blessing to the people around you and we are so excited to see what God will bring your way.
Wishing you blessings, love and a lifetime of never knowing another day without each other.
