For the last three years I have been involved in a mom’s group at our church. One of my favorite parts is that each table is assigned a mentor mom. Someone who has a little more experience raising kids. A friend who will pray you through these times with babies, toddlers and the early elementary years. Someone to listen and give advice when needed.
Last year, Jennifer was my mentor mom, a woman who has raised three wonderful ladies. Not only did she pray for me, listen and help with life decisions, she shared her servant heart with our family. She came over during the main part of our house renovation and helped scrape wall paper from one of the bathrooms as we talked the afternoon away. Honestly, it was therapy for me in that crazy time.
This summer, with a giant trust in God, Jennifer, her husband and youngest daughter Abigail moved to Washington DC. Jennifer and Rod would be helping at a church, planted by former members of our church here in Grapevine. Abigail would finish out her schooling, her Senior year in DC. Bravery.
So, over this past Christmas break, their family all came back to Texas to visit and I got to meet with Abigail for her Senior portraits here in Grapevine. She sparkles just like her mom. Kind eyes and smile. Great sense of humor. Super fun. There are very great things in store for this gorgeous lady.
